Saint Louis Art Museum

- Description
- I chose the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) as my historical hope site because it has, in my opinion, been a beacon of hope for over a hundred years. The SLAM gives St. Louisans and tourists/visitors alike a free resource where they can have access to art from all over the world. You see art from artists of different backgrounds, that may be from a different time period, of a different skin color with their own nuanced perspective, or it could be someone who had a very similar experience, and you see yourself in them. Museums of any kind are important to have, but what makes the SLAM so hopeful comes from the fact that it has not only existed so long and is entirely free, but it also brings culture and tells the story of the artists they feature. The beauty of the SLAM (and Forest Park as a whole) is that it shows that it brings the world right to our fingertips. Therefore, I find this place hopeful.
