Title

Vashon High School: Advisory Room - Teacher in front of Class

Description

Vashon moved to Bell Avenue in 1963 after the St. Louis Public School District reallocated this original Laclede Avenue building to Harris Teachers College. When the school faced closure in the 1990s, alumni called to save and renovate the school. This community support of the school helped a state-of-the-art building open on Cass Avenue in 2002. Described on the school’s website as a “Phoenix rising from the ashes of despair,” Vashon is still open today.
