Title

Song "Frankie and Johnny"

Description

"Frankie and Johnny" is a popular murder ballad about a wronged woman killing her lover. Said to be based on a true murder from Mill Creek Valley, it sparked inspiration in Jim Dooley, a local composer. While the actual facts of the murder have been forgotten outside of trials, the story transformed from a song about local news to a facet of pop culture, turning into differing versions of the song, movies and plays.
