- After achieving its goals for the Marilyn Banks injustice, CAPCR goes on a hiatus. CAPCR achieved the historic firsts of indictment of a police officer for the murder of a Black person and the largest civil settlement at that time for a family who lost a loved one at the hands of police. CAPCR also used the Ferrario shooting as proof that police 'thrown-down guns" did exist. The community was proud to have established a trust fund for Marilyn Banks' surviving children. Lastly, the firing of Officer Ferrario was unprecedented.
