"“Soon is the echo and the shadow o’er, Soon, soon we lie with lid-encumbered eyes, And the great fabrics that we reared before Crumble to make a dust to hide who dies.”
Lucy Anne Delaney lived a remarkable life. She was the child of a once-free woman who was kidnapped and sold into slavery. Lucy and her family would encounter different periods of freedom, enslavement, running to find freedom, bought and sold again, and finally winning a suit for freedom. This amazing woman concluded her life with an astounding account of her life in the book From the Darkness Cometh the Light. This site is a reminder of the virtues of hope and freedom.
