Title

Painting "Primary" by Hannah Stewart

Description

Painting, "Primary," by Hannah Stewart. To create this work, the artist used their bare breasts to imprint overlapping circular shapes of various colors over a black background. "Primary" is part of a series of paintings that were created in the same fashion and explore questions of bodily autonomy and sexual consent. According to the artist, this painting considers the feelings of shame that some children experience as they enter puberty during their primary school years. Its companion piece is "Depth."
