Greek Life
For the past 60 years the University of Missouri - St. Louis has had a rich tradition of Greek life on campus. UMSL has maintained a Greek community made up of both new and well-established Greek organizations, like Alpha Phi Omega and Delta Zeta, throughout the years. Greek organizations have greatly influenced and participated in campus life in many different forms. One example of this influence is the sponsorship of student yearbook creations like the 1977 New Student Record which was published by the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at UMSL. Greek life is currently managed by three governing councils: the UMSL Panhellenic Association of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the Interfraternity Council (IFC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) which oversees the Divine Nine organizations.

Greek Life Today
The Panhellenic Association - consists of sororities which encourage women to be the best version of themselves. They encourage campus involvement, superior scholarship, philanthropy, community service, and holding oneself to high social and moral standards.
The Interfraternity Council - is a self-governing body of representatives from each UMSL fraternity. The IFC provides opportunities for UMSL's fraternity members to develop academic, leadership, social, and professional skills.
The NPHC and the Divine Nine - made up of historically black sororities and fraternities, the NPHC strives to showcase the opportunities offered by the Divine Nine organizations. UMSL's NPHC acts liaison between UMSL's Divine Nine campus chapters and the city-wide chapters.
